Tattoo FAQs - Questions about getting your tattoo at Lucky Lotus Tattoo

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does it hurt?
A: Yep!

Q: How much does it cost?
A: We have a $50 minimum, and we charge per piece, not by the hour. For an accurate price quote please stop by the shop and talk to one of our artists!

Q: Do you do piercings?
A: Nope, just tattoos

Q: How do I make an appointment?
A: We ask that you stop by the shop to make an appointment. We only do custom work so it is important to speak with the artist doing your tattoo, and we require a $20 cash deposit on all appointments. If you’re coming from out of town, call or email us and we can work it out!

Q: How old do you have to be to get a tattoo?
A: you MUST be at least 18 years of age with a valid photo ID such as your drivers license or passport.

Q: If I am under 18 can my parent or legal guardian give permission for me to be tattooed?
A: Nope! Sorry, in New York State you must be 18 or older, parental consent or not.

Q: What forms of payment do you take?
A: We are cash only at this time.

Q: Do your artists accept tips?
A: Tips are never expected, but always appreciated. If you love your new tattoo but would rather show your appreciation in a non-monetary way, please like us on Facebook or write us a nice review on Yelp!

Q: Do you do touch-ups?
A: The artist that did your tattoo will touch it up as necessary, free of charge, within one year of receiving the tattoo. We can also re-work old tattoos that need some love!

Q: Can I go to the gym after getting my tattoo?
A: This usually depends on the extensiveness and placement of the tattoo, but we generally recommend you wait at least a day to hit the gym. If you do go while your tattoo is healing, be extra careful to keep it clean!

Q: Can I bring a friend?
A: Absolutely! Just don’t bring your kids!

Q: It’s my first tattoo! I’m so nervous! What do I do!?
A: STAY CALM. It’s not that bad. Make sure you have a good meal and hydrate before you come in. Your tattoo artist will do their best to make you comfortable, and before you know it, you’ll be walking out the door with a spring in your step and an awesome new tattoo. No pain no gain!
